Inspire 2 or Inspire 3

After 65+million steps since Dec. 2013 my Fitbit One is acting really bonkers of late :^( .

Time to replace soon.

I really only give a hoot about steps, sleep, and reliability is there any real difference in the Inspire 2 from the newer Inspire 3 in those 2 categories? The Inspire will live in my pocket with the clip not on my wrist.

Hard times require hard choices the Inspire 2 seems to be half the price of the Inspire 3. But also have no desire to be disappointed because I wanted to save a few bucks.

Hi, @colddonkey, welcome, it's never easy to stand in someone else's shoes addressing a question like yours. I think the best way forward is to spend some time looking at the manuals & noting the differences that matter to you -

Inspire 3 manual & Inspire 2 manual

The most obvious difference is the Inspire 3 has a color screen that is much easier to see in daylight than the monochrome screen on the Inspire 2. If the device is going to be on your wrist at all you will immediately appreciate this. Present prices here in the UK are £69 for the Inspire 3 and £45 for the Inspire 2.

I note that the sleep data is crunched on the Fitbit server when you sync, and you get the figure on the second sync, I do not think there is any difference between the devices in that respect, you will, of course, keep your Fitbit app up to date. I've used both devices (not to the point of exhaustion) & find they are very similar.

I have no doubt others in the community have views.

Cheers

@colddonkey I've used both the Inspire 2 and Inspire 3. The Inspire 3 has a color display and tracks SpO2 if you wear it while you sleep. I found that the Inspire 2 could go a little longer between charging. Fourteen days for Inspire 2 and twelve days for the Inspire 3.

Those are the only real differences that I could find. Are those differences worth paying more for an Inspire 3? I don't know. In your position, I'd probably go with the Inspire 2.

Well folks I decided to play it safe and went with the 3. Didn't want to wait for a delivery and bought the Inspire 3 locally, plus didn't want to risk possible "no longer updating" messages if I got the Inspire 2.
