Inspire 3 Charging

I and my wife are long term users of Fitbits. I started off with the Charge all the way up to Charge 6, awkward charging but no real issues. I’m now on the Versa 4 with a brilliant charging adaptor. My wife was using the Luxe which she loved but because of a screen failure she had to go to the Inspire 3. What a disastrous physical adaptor. Nine times out of 10 attempts it won’t have charged - and I’m an experienced user. Very poor, needs to be revisited.

Had the sameproblem ... until I found out that you have to "click" the adapter to the inspire 3 . First I thought it's kind of magnet but it isnt. So you need to place the charging adapter exactly and click it under the tracker.

Hi @PeterJGW, thanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.

I appreciate the loyalty of your wife and you towards our products. I'm sorry to hear about your experience while charging the Inspire 3.

While i know you are an experienced user, i recommend that you take a look at our help article How do I charge my Fitbit device? below the section How do I attach the charging cable to my Inspire 3? because the design is pretty accurate and shouldn't fail to charge it so often.

In addition, you can check our help article Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging? for additional tips.

Hi @DavidFitbit, thanks for your reply but I have overcome the issue with the purchase of a third party charging cable. It’s nearly a metre long so much better than the 23cm cable supplied. It’s not that the supplied cable was ridiculously short, but that when clipped onto the Inspire 3 it was an unreliable connection. The new cable on the other hand allows the FitBit to rest on a surface off the floor (or wherever a charger resides) and the electrical clip provided charging 10 times of 10 attempts whereas the original was only a tenth of that.

Now this won’t stop me from buying another FitBit (assuming Google haven’t stopped the manufacture) but you really need to revisit the charging cable again. If A.N.Other cable supplier can get it right I’m sure FitBit can.

Hi @Bodywatcher, thanks for the advice but I was clipping it physically correctly but the connection was unreliable. I’ve replied to @DavidFitbit @above with what I did. Read that to save me typing more!

I charged my Inspire 3 now the second time .... it didn't work ... and I remember now what the reason was: I plugged the USB Cable in a Powerbank and it showed charging during the first second. After I while I noticed that it didn't charge further. The problem was the powerbank! I did the same mistake again and remembered to plug it into a regular  USB Adapter: then it charged.

Thanks for that, @Bodywatcher @but all I can do is reiterate I’ve fixed my problem with the purchase of a third party charging cable. I can now click it in place on the Inspire and I can now be confident it will charge OK - which funnily enough I’ve literally just done!
