Inspire 3 - Detects swimming as rowing

Anyone ever had this problem?  If so did you find a way to fix or correct it?  I just got my Inspire 3 Tuesday and on Wednesday I did water aerobics and Thursday I swam laps.  It registered both day’s activities as swimming without any input from me other than using the “water lock” feature.  Today I did partial water aerobics activities for about 40 minutes and swam laps for 30 minutes and did remember to engage the water lock.  Unfortunately, later it shows both of these activities as rowing machine.  Thanks for any suggestions and/or assistance.

Hi @BJTaylor1130, welcome to the Fitbit community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help your Inspire 3 to better track your activities.

This may be happening because rowing movement is simmilar to sweimming. You can ensure this activity is not recognized as rowing by deleting if for the auto-start exercise from the list. To do so:

  • Swipe left/right on your Inspire 3 screen and open the Exercise app
  • Swipe up to find the rowing shortcut and tap on it
  • Swipe up on the tiny "^" that will take you to the specific settings like set a goal
  • Look for Auto-start and toggle it off

This list includes six shortcuts. Other daily activities can activate other shortcuts. See if this fix resolves the issue.

Thanks David.  My screen wasn’t exactly like you described it it was close enough to get me where I think I needed to be in order to make some changes.  I go swimming again on Monday and will see about setting specifically for swimming along with disabling rowing.
