For about the last week, my Inspire 3 has been losing steps. Just now, I was at 9996. I started walking to reach 10,000. I walked about 30 steps and looked at the display. It read 9883. Then, as I watched, it dropped to 9877. I walked about another 300 steps to get it up to 10,000. The other day, it read 10,200+. A few minutes later, while I was stationary, my device vibrated. I looked at the display and it 10,000. What gives? I know other people have posted about this problem. I read one post from March 2025 that had a reply from Fitbit. The reply said they were aware of the problem and that it had been fixed. Clearly, it has not been fixed.

It just did it to me again. I had passed 10,000 steps. About 1/2 hour later, my device was vibrating. Steps had been deducted, which dropped me below 10,000 and then I reached 10,000 a second time. By the way, most of that 1/2 hour was spent walking.

I'm still waiting for a reply on this.

This has been happening to me, as well. It’s like taking 2 steps forward, followed by a step backward.
I get to my daily minimum, then find I’m 500 steps short.
I’ve been with Fitbit for over a decade, but am thinking it’s time for an Apple Watch.

I bought a Garmin Vivosmart 5 to replace my Inspire 2. I wore it for two days, then sent it back. It was too complex and had features that I neither needed, nor wanted. The Fitbit has some features I like that the Garmin doesn't, such as the reminder to move at 10 minutes to the hour. Then I bought my Inspire 3. I have been reasonably happy with it and it was half the price. Fitbit's big problem seems to be customer service.

So far today, I have reached 10,000 steps 3 times. The first 2 times, I then lost steps bringing me back under 10,000. I still have 2 hours to go. It could happen again. When are they going to fix this problem?
