Inspire 3 - Not counting swimming laps

My inspire 3 no longer auto recognizes swimming or counts laps. Has anyone else encountered this and found a way to fix it?

Hi, @Teenybee, welcome to the community. I'm currently having the same experience, but as far as I can see, we are alone. Auto recognize is not mentioned recently in a search bar query. If this were a software issue, there would be a disturbance in the "Force". Following recent updates, we may have inadvertently changed some settings. May I suggest you check the auto-track settings in the Fitbit app on your phone? From the "Today" screen of the Fitbit app on your cell phone touch your icon in the top right corner>Fitbit settings>activity>swipe up to Auto-Track activities>swimming>make sure the "Track Automatically" slider is in the "on" position & the minimum duration set at 10 minutes. I've disabled all the others.

On your Inspire 3 check that the "walk" auto start is disabled (my swims were frequently recorded as walks) From the clock face swipe right or left to "Exercise">swipe up to "Walk" then swipe up to reveal auto start & auto stop make sure these are in the off position. You will also find similar settings under "Run" if you are getting "Run" instead of "Swim" in Auto-tracking.

When you rely on the auto-track feature for swimming, you should engage the water-lock before going into the pool.

Another step you might consider is to restart your Inspire 3. You will not lose your data, but if you use the "Clear user data" option, you must sync your Inspire3 first to get all your data onto the Fitbit server. If you also delete & reload your Fitbit app, you must sync first, after deleting, restart your phone.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Inspire 3 does not display laps (or lengths) only elapsed time while swimming.

My present way around this is to use the start arrow under swim on the Inspire 3. "exercise" Icon. This is my swim this morning, the lap count is out by 2 length (I only did 150)

Cheers

I have a similar issue. After the most recent firmware update my Inspire 3 no longer auto recognizes swimming laps. It now registers swimming as a rowing machine.  I have not found a way to fix it yet.

In the app on my phone auto track is on for swimming, but not for rowing machine. On auto track the minimum used to be 10 minutes and now it is 15.

looking for help on this.

Hi, @jodw, welcome. May I suggest you review the settings for "Rowing Machine" on your Inspire 3. If you swipe up on the "Rowing Machine" exercise, you'll see sliders to Auto-start & auto stop the exercise. If you turn these to the off position, does it change your reported behaviour? I've set up my Auto-track on the Fitbit app on my phone to "Off" for everything except swimming (more than 10 minutes) I waterlock my Inspire 3 before entering the water & usually get the exercise reported as a "Walk" (I've turned off the autostart & auto stop on "Walk" on the Inspire 3). I then edit the exercise to "Swim" when I get home. This is a bit irritating, but the advantage is that I do get Cardio Load reported for the newly edited swim. If I start the "Swim" via the exercise icon in the Inspire 3, the result is a "Swim", but it often needs editing and the cardio Load is absent.

Let us know what you find.

I'm going to escalate this issue, and your input will be helpful.

Cheers
