I have had my Fitbit Inspire 3 since September 2024. I have noticed that my tracks are way above that of my friends doing the exact same activity.
To test it out I recorded my hike this morning on my Fitbit (through the watch) and Strava (through the app), as well as on eBird (a birding app, also tracks distance walked).
Here's my results:
Fitbit:
Strava:
eBird:
My partner did the exact same walk and his results are:
Strava:
eBird:
I don't understand how my Fitbit & Strava is recording nearly a mile more than our eBird and my Partner's Strava. Location services are on, my Fitbit and iPhone are up to date, and I don't think it's a software thing. I think it's how Fitbit translates my phones GPS data. From looking at the maps it seems that my route on Fitbit (& Strava) is very erratic, no smoothing at all like eBird.
Can anyone help?
