Inspire 3 - Smartphone needed

Purchased Inspire 3 to replace Alta HR because battery no longer holds a charge for more than a few days.  Am furious to learn that Fitbit no longer supports customers unless they have a tablet or smart phone.  This should have been clearly stated in the promotional material.  Now I have to figure out returning this useless (to me) device.  Now that I've been reading some of the complaints about Inspire 3 on the this platform, I guess I'm going to be better off not having a Fitbit anymore.  Getting technologically too complicated to be efficient for purchasers who, like me, are mere mortals!

Hi @gubbins  Windows was discontinued in October 2022. As time goes by, more fitness trackers require the use of a smartphone in order to use all the functions of a device. https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/compatible-devices

That is small comfort to those of us who have no other reason to want to own a tablet or smart phone. But then, I guess Fitbit is so powerful, they don’t really need to keep customers who have used their product for upwards to 10 years.

@gubbins  my Windows app stopped working around 8.1, so I had to use my Android phone. You don't have to use a cell phone, but if you had a phone that could use your wi-fi, you could use it for the Fitbit app, without having a cell phone plan.
