Inspire 3 Syncing issues and lost data

Hello -- for the last week or so my Inspire 3 was having difficulties syncing.

At times it would take quite a few minutes but ultimately it would. Other times, I had to close bluetooth, start it up again and then connect it.  Well after trying everything and the syncing taking longer, I went ahead and downloaded the app again.  Everything I thought was going well, until I noticed that now all my previous day/months etc data are gone 😭 .  I used the same email address as before, the only thing was that I had to re-set my password.  Is my data truly lost??? does this mean I have to start all over again?  This version of the inspire device has had more issues than what I had with my Inspire 2 (which I lost) and yes even my old "One" never caused so many problems.

It seems unlikely that all your data was lost. Do you still see the data on the Fitbit online dashboard?

If you click the icon in the upper left-hand corner of the app Today screen, does it show that the phone has recently synced?

Yes, it shows synced -- however, for example, my data let's say # of steps prior to yesterday do not show, but I see my "lifetime" steps looks like it has recorded - so not showing 0 Yay!!  The other thing I noticed, that on the phone app/  the # of steps is matching to today's however, on my dashboard online they differ as they should.  uggghhh...

It appears to be a sync issue then, but it is strange that the app shows that everything is synced properly, but the data on the dashboard differs from the data on the app.

Possibly try exiting the app, clearing the app cache, and then opening the app again?

Maybe one of the Moderators on the forum can provide some guidance here, because it is unlikely that the CS team will know how to resolve this unusual sync issue.

I just saw a Moderator response to someone else that had this sync issue in 2017 and the advice was to force-stop the app, restart the phone and then open the app again, which apparently resolved the sync issue for that person.

Update:  late this afternoon finally got help thru the chat. They were able to somehow verify my email address prior to reloading the app— it was an email address I rarely use but now I know that is tied to my Fitbit acct.  After reloading the app, pairing my device again— all the data is back!! Thank goodness because I have a couple of miles per month challenges coming up!  Thanks everybody!
