Inspire 3 automatically changes all recorded "workouts" to just "activities"

ANSWERED

Today Inspire 3 started doing this: it automatically changes all recorded "workouts" to just "activities". Also from all days prior today. Now I only have "activity" marked on  my workouts.

I have updated all software and  restarted watch (from device and via app) and phone. Even changed the clockface (that is a solution to many mishaps....)

If I start workout and close it, and then sync with the app, workout shows then suddenly as activity.  If I add manually a "workout" done earlier, after syncing it is "activity".

Every workout for months has now been only "activities". Can't follow my program anymore.

How frustrating and dumb!

Accepted Solutions

Now today. The same continues with "activities". Plus a new fault started: automatically detected "swim" did not record swimming for 40min but came out as "rowing machine" for 51 minutes. The 11 minutes I sat in a sauna without the watch, but it still recorded me "rowing a machine " without a pulse...

Only help from the "help" via email was to reinstall the app. That have done now several times. It seems that only adds to problems.

I've been having the same problem since the update.  I don't thing my device is accurate anymore.

My Charge 6 did the same on May 30th.  Of all the unnecessary changes, this is right up there.  I don't know how the Fitbit team thinks this change is for the better.

Yes. No to be relied on. Even swimming was automatically documented since the update. Now "swim" is "rowing machine" and it seems I keep rowing the machine also when after the swim I sit in a sauna without the device anywhere near by... A total fiasco this update.

The "help" does not respond to the swim recording issue at all. But for "workouts" now all suddenly changed as "activities" (new ones and all old ones too!), their explanation first was that "workout" is "nothing specific and can include many sorts of movements" and thus the app now marks it as "activity". Hahaha! How much more specific is "activity"? And "activity" is not even listed in the activities list to choose from! So I just choose the "workout" as before when I start my workout and so I get records of "activity". Now they suddenly say that this happens in Android apps only after the new update. Having first explained the malfunction as a designed improvement...

Also changes cannot be made after a passed recording. Ie if I get "bike" automatically recorded (I have set a time 20min or over biking to be recorded automatically), and then the record shows the biking 30min plus 15 minutes afterwords ie 15 minutes of lying down after the biking, I cannot correct the record from 45minutes to the correct 30min. It does not accept any changes.

So, I m starting to look for other alternative devices that could be trusted and that won't frustrate me...

@Katkus Unfortunately not being able to edit an activity or add an activity after the fact is a known issue.  They had it corrected and then it broke again after a subsequent update.  Problems persist.

When I click on the ACTIVITY as if to edit it, it clearly still says WORKOUT.  Really irks me about this "update".  I tested out AEROBICS, CIRCUIT TRAINING and STRENGTH TRAINING, it syncs over.  Think I have to use those now in place of WORKOUT.
