Inspire 3 is adding to many steps while driving

I just got an inspire 3. It's adding hundreds/thousands of steps to my total while driving. Unfortunately, I'm a truck driver so it's constantly accruing more. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Unsure if I should replace the inspire or get something completely new

Hi there, @jagiapa9. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire3 is tracking a lot of steps while driving. I understand your concern and how important it is to you to get an accurate step count, I will do my best to help you with this!

Fitbit has worked hard to make sure that Fitbit devices do not pick up false steps or activity recordings while driving. Unless you're driving in a car with a very stiff transmission, a truck (like in your case), or on bumpy roads, your device should not give you false readings. Also, if you place it on a surface with something vibrating or if you make hard hand movements.

There's no driving mode on Inspire 3 or any other Fitbit devices you can use, however,
there are ways you can prevent this from happening while you drive:

1. You can plug your Fitbit device into the charging cable while you are driving -- the Fitbit will not count steps while it is charging.
2. You can log the driving manually by following the steps in this articleWe use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average.
