Frequently, I noticed that my Fitbit is not registering steps that I am doing. this especially occurs when I am near a goal such as 250 steps or my daily goal.

I did a 13-minute walk and it only registered 22 steps per minute.

This is getting crazy! I walk from one room to the next and I have zero steps! Please fix this problem!

I just did another 41 steps and again zero on my counter! I am 13 steps away from my 3000 daily goal. This seems to be part of the problem. Whenever I am close to a goal, it seems to stop registering my steps! @LizzyFitbit maybe you can check out this problem.

Please note: I am disabled, and it is difficult enough to walk without receiving the steps being counted! It is very disheartening!

@LizzyFitbit I have found a way to force it to count my steps. When I activate a “walk,” then it seems to count them.

Hi there, @Ddonna. It's great to see you around.

Thanks for the detailed information and sharing screenshots of your app. I understand you and I'm sorry that you're going through this experience. While your steps seem to be recorded when using the Exercise app, could you check if you have MobileTrack enabled? This function allows you to track basic information using your phone's sensors. However, if it's used along with a Fitbit device, your data might get overwritten, or even removed.

Assuming this might be your case, I'd suggest trying the following steps:

  1. Remove this Phone function from the Fitbit app with the instructions described here.
  2. Restart your Inspire 3 to refresh its performance.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  4. Wear your tracker and use it as you normally do to see how It goes.

@LizzyFitbit I do not have a phone. I have the app on an iPad.

@LizzyFitbit Today it keeps stopping from counting again. Two hours ago at 6 o’clock the step total was 2907. Then it was 2990. I just looked at it at 8:30-ish and it was still at 2990. I set it for walk to try to start it counting the steps again. When I ended the exercise, the counter said zero steps for my walk. Then when I looked at it on the app it counted eight steps in two minutes. Note that it is stopped just before 3000 which is my daily goal. This seems to be a common factor in the problem: being close to a goal. Note also the second picture is from a few days ago again with it stopping near my goal of 3000 steps.

I bought this device in December 2023. Since it is still under warranty, should I have it replaced?

@LizzyFitbit this problem is visible in the conflicting data under the active zone minutes. The zone minutes are showing where the steps show zero steps.IMG_2421.jpegIMG_2420.jpeg

@LizzyFitbit again today as I was nearing my 3,000 step goal, my device stopped counting my steps. Should I use the warranty to have it replaced? Or is this a bug in Fitbit?
