it was working well for the first week I had it and then it just stopped randomly.

so far I've reset the inspire 3, toggled notifications on/off (on iPhone and watch), disconnected blutooth and restarted the the phone. anything I'm missing?

problem solved. apparently while I've been swimming the watch settings just went crazy and toggled a bunch of stuff. I reset them back to normal. 

on that note, can I set it so the watch doesn't that do that in water?
