A bout a week ago we received the two fit bits I ordered, one for me and one for my dad. He's a bit older and figured it would be helpful for his doctors and such.
Anyway, he wore it for about a day. And now the screen stays black, whether it's on the charger for an hour or three days. I can restart it till the cows come home and it just stares back blankly. I bought the extra coverage for it. And everything I've tried has failed. When it restarts it shows the Fitbit symbol, then goes black again. No matter how many times I try it. What do I do now?

If you place his device into the charging cradle, allow it to charge for a couple of hours, and then press/hold the two side buttons for at least 10 seconds, that will perform a Factory Reset of the device.
If you don't see a Fitbit logo and a message to download the app like it did when you first received the device, then it is defective and you should return it for a replacement device.

Thank you for the reply Bill. I definitely will try that.
Hopefully it works. I wouldn't even know where to start with the return process 🤦😂

If you purchased them from Amazon, you have 30 days to return it, no questions asked. Otherwise, you can call Customer Service and request a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number and they can tell you how to return it for a replacement under the Factory 1-year warranty.
