I have an Inspire 3 and it will not display the 4 digit pairing code. I have a Google Pixel 8, and I use the Google. One VPN. It's running the latest update for the OS.
I've found the exact same issue, but the replies are closed that there was zero resolution. Sweeping it under the rug will not make the issue go away.

I have disabled the Google One VPN and ensured that I am not using anything like a private DNS or a different VPN service.
The phone discovers the Inspire 3 without issue, however it will not display the 4 digit pairing code. The FitBit app eventually gives up and presents a "Try Again" button. I've done everything except wipe my phone, which I will not do for this issue.
I'm very disappointed in the fact that several people reported this issue in the posting link above, with zero resolution from FitBit. The "best answer" was actually a question "Do you have a VPN installed on your phone, if so it should be disabled for the Fitbit app?" and marking the post as "Solved" is an insult to the person that went out of their way to post the issue in the first place.
I'm just going to assume that this is probably buried in some Jira backlog and will not see the light of day. I'll keep fiddling with it, but this is the #1 reason I dislike smart watches or fitness trackers. They work great for about a year, and then something like this happens and they end up in the trash. I'm glad I got this for free.

Steps for resolving the issue with using the Google One VPN.
