Inspire 3 won't sync properly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Whenever I want to sync I have to completely reset the app and my entire fitbit inspire 3, and I must admit that is not inspiring at all to do on the daily and never have any feedback available. Anyone familiar with this?

@ivrak , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.

Please make sure that you have the latest Fitbit app release installed.

Have you tried the steps and tips described here: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

@JuanFitbit man, that's not an appropriate response. Fitbits have been behaving weirdly recently and Fitbit, the company, hasn't shown any accountability and responsibility.

I am having the exact same issue. I have to hard reboot every time I want to aync.

Hi everybody! Thank you for your messages.

If you already tried the steps described here: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Try the following steps, some you have already done, but the order is important:

  • Restart your Inspire 3.
  • Please on the phone, go to Settings>Bluetooth and remove all connections that exist with the tracker. (Forget, ignore or unpair device depending on the phone's operating system version)
  • Turn off Bluetooth and restart your phone. (switch off and on again).
  • When the phone is back on, turn the Bluetooth on again, but DO NOT try to connect to the tracker from there.
  • Go on the app. From here, try setting up the tracker as a new device.

@JuanFitbit I have had to do all of that EVERY time I want it to sync. It’s terrible!

I too have experienced a hard reset with my inspire. As of late, I haven't even gotten any reset or updates it just lacks any tracking information.

How often will I have to follow these steps? I tried this already and it stopped synching.

I am having the same problem

I am in the same boat as everyone except none of this is working. I have tried every step advised and it will not sync. I have been trying for about 3 weeks now and have tried at least 15 times today.

Been there done that - not working time and time again.

It was working the first week I got it but only with the app I still had working on my computer and sadly like a dork i logged out and now of course can't get back since it is no longer supported.  Didn't realize this  or i would NEVER EVER have logged out.

Fitbit is missing such a HUGE group with ditching the app on the COMPUTER>

Not all of us like or even use our phones to fill up with apps to use for every little thing.

Some of us much prefer to use our computers for one reason or another myself included and one main reason is for HEALTH related issues which is why i upgraded my fitbit in the first place from an inspire 2 to the inspire 3 during black friday and now I wish I never would have messed with anything!

It takes forever and a day for it to sync  and I can't use my computer anymore anyway so I need to send this back and move to a totally different kind of tracker as I can't keep spending days on end trying to get it to work right.

Yes i did every step  instructed even tried on three phones and two tablets without any success it just sits and can't pair and can't sync.  Kind of defeats the point of having it when it will not work right and the company could care less anyway about the issues at hand with the  inspire 3

Hey @JuanFitbit I've had a fitbit stuck at "Connecting to Fitbit" after trying with 3 different devices (2 iphones and an ipad).

I have tried both your recommendations in this thread along with about 10 things I've found on these boards. And nothing works. I've been working on this for 3 hours! Hahah!

What is the next step? Or how do I file a bug ticket? Is there a formal process to complain or send it back? Do the software/hardware teams know how many times this happens versus other software/devices (in other words, I have never seen this problem with 20+ bluetooth devices and Apple devices over the last 10 years and after reading these forums it seems common). I'm not being facetious, if they don't know they really should know.

thanks Juan

This solution did work for me finally. Hopefully this will stay.

Sorry this is becoming such a struggle. I have now had three fitbits over the last three years and this was the first time I really struggled with it.

I thought I either got a bum Inspire 3 or was just going insane.  I was surprised to see so many people with what sounds like the same problem.

I had an Inspire 2 for quite a long time, but then the right-side of the face where the band attaches broke off.  I replaced it with an Inspire 3 which worked for a little over a month (end of October till about a week ago), but now I cannot manually sync my paired device.  It will sync up eventually, like it's pushed/pulled data on it's own schedule, but I cannot manually sync it.  I did a Chat with support.  We tried all sorts of things, but nothing sticks. They told me they bumped it up to a higher level and that I'd be contacted via email, but that NEVER happened.  This really is ridiculous.

There's got to be a fix that restores normal function.  I shouldn't need to erase the app's existence from my device and then reinstall it and set it up every time I want to sync my activity!  That's not a fix; that's torture.  Maybe I can trade it in for an Inspire 2 😩 ...

I so agree with you and have been going through the same issues.

Does not matter which device I put the app on.  Same issue EVERY single time I wany to sync I have to jump through hoops in order to get any info.  I am so sick and tired of this.  Uninstall reinstall  pair to device over and over takes a good hour some days and that is only if lucky that it will even work because even doing all this does not make it work.  Often it takes days to get it to pair and sync.   I gave up for today because it has been over 40 min and nothing I do will get it to sync.

I liked my Inspire 2 better because never had such issues but that one got to where you could not read it anymore the light was not working well but I might just toss this Inspire 3 out the window and go back to the Inspire 2 that is sitting in my drawer.

I think I figured out what was happening to me. I have both a google
account and a Fitbit account. My Fitbit account is through my gmail
address. It seemed like with enough inactivity the app would switch to
maybe a default and try to connect to my non existent google Fitbit
account, instead of my actual Fitbit account, when I manually synced. More
than once I had uninstalled and reinstalled the app, paired, etc. I always
said NO to the question about migrating my account from actual/old Fitbit
to google/new Fitbit. This got me thinking that google must really want us
to move everything off of Fitbit’s original platform onto their platform. I
decided to give up on my stubbornness and do the whole thing one more time,
but this time I would say YES. That worked and I haven’t had a problem
since. But I found it very frustrating.
