Inspire 3 won't sync

I have tried everything to get it to work including uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone.  I started by disconnecting from bluetooth and restarting.  Big mistake.  Now my phone doesn't even detect the Inspire 3 but it still says it is syncing.  It is NOT.  I'm ready to try a competitor's product and throw this one away and I have been a FitBIt user for years.

Starting the whole setup process over typically works.

  • Uninstall the app
  • If the Inspire 3 shows that it is BT paired with the phone, unpair it
  • Perform a Factory Reset on the device, which should display a Fitbit logo and a message to install the app
  • Restart the phone
  • Reinstall the app
  • Complete the setup process
