I had a Fitbit like two years ago that I used occasionally but I think I lost it. I was thinking about getting a new one (either a charge 5 Or an Inspire 3) for sleep tracking a heart rate monitoring.
But I’ve seen the posts about Fitbit recently announcing they are removing features. I am not sure I would have used the groups or challenges features but it does make me worry that Google is planning on shutting Fitbit down in the near future.
For those of you who have it, do you think it’s still worth it to buy a new Fitbit? For those of you who have the Charge 5 is the ECH app worth it? I’m looking for information about my heart rate, blood oxygen and breathing especially while I sleep because I have some health concerns I’m exploring with a doctor but it would be nice to have some data myself.
Or, should I be looking into saving up for an Apple Watch? I also looked at Whoop but that seems more expensive since it’s a subscription based model vs owning a watch/Fitbit. I also heard of the Oura ring but I wasn’t sure if that was worth the cost.
Thanks in advance!

I got my Inspire 3 for free from my health insurance. Prior to the Fitbit I was using a $30 generic tracker from Amazon. The Fitbit does more and it's slightly more comfortable but for what I need (steps, exercise duration, heart rate), the $30 tracker was just fine. And no tracker is perfect and I believe they will all give you bad data on occasion. For example, I went on a 2 mile walk this morning and the Fitbit claimed my peak heart rate was 204 bpm! No way that's accurate. I've never seen a rate that high during my 4 times weekly 2 1/2 mile runs. Yesterday I was sitting and got a "your earning zone minutes" notification. Claimed my heart rate was 110 bpm. Checked my pulse against the clock and it was 60-something. Those anomalies aside, I like the Fitbit but I wouldn't pay $99 for one.
