Hello, my boyfriend bought me Fitbit Inspire3 as training for my first marathon in October I had mentioned I’d like one thinking a fitness app like this would have training programs and music all in one place, disappointing to learn this is not the case. I’m sure it will be useful to follow heart rate but maybe an idea to incorporate these things as so many people who use fitbits are runners

Hello @ursiedotr and welcome to the Community. The Inspire 3 is an entry level tracker and definitely won't meet your needs. Unfortunately, there is no current Fitbit, tracker or smartwatch, that will meet your needs. Fitbit used to allow stored personal music and/or Pandora/Deezer playlists on smartwatches, but that feature no longer exists. To make matters worse, Fitbit never allowed third party apps on its trackers (like Inspire 3/Charge 5, etc.) and doesn't allow any on its current smartwatches (Sense 2/Versa 4).
If you are serious about your marathon training, then you should think about returning your Inspire 3. I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions for other brands. My long distance running days are a distant memory.

Practically every tracker is nowadays better than Fitbit for running. Still I would recommend to avoid generalist tracker and concentrate to specialized running watch. I personally love Polar but I recently tried a Coros Pace 2 (with recently I mean today) and I have been impressed.
Other excellent brands are Suunto and Garmin
