Moving to Google forces me to delete data when managing it.

I’m trying to switch over to Google and it says I need to “manage” my data. When I click on what data to manage (steps, for example) I’m prompted to pick how much data I want to delete, and not given an option to keep everything. Why are they forcing me to delete data, when I’m told switching over won’t delete anything? The explanation on the “management” page is confusing. I don’t understand the value of deleting anything or why they’re prompting us to delete it in the first place. Anyone know how to switch over without deleting data? Thanks.

I converted to Google some time ago.  This is a relatively new issue, several weeks, since the switch.  I cannot figure how to keep it from deleting.  Very frustrating.  I have written to Google several times.  The only response has been to stay current with updates.
