My Inspire 3 has just lost 7000 steps!

Hi, I did a long walk today. Towards the end my Fitbit congratulated me on reaching 12,500 steps. By the time I finished, my step count was over 12,700. I did not log any manual activities. Shortly afterwards I looked at my Fitbit and it said that I have only done 5,475 steps. I have tried charging the Fitbit and have restarted it but my steps have not been corrected. The Fitbit app says the same. I was carrying my iPhone in my pocket and that has recorded 12,756 minutes in the Health app, so I know that the Fitbit is incorrect. Please help!

The same thing has been happening to me! It just started this week. I notice there's been a recent update to the Fitbit app, so maybe that's the problem?  Looking at past posts, it appears that this issue has been going on for years. VERY FRUSTRATING!
