Hi, @fit2025user, welcome to the community, I am not replicating your experience on my daily swim. If you are allowing the auto-recognize feature to record your activities (don't forget to set the water lock before you start) you should review the settings in the Fitbit app on your phone. Touch your icon in the top right corner of the Today screen on your Fitbit app>Fitbit settings>exercise>swimming>ensure the slider is in the "on" position & "Swims longer than" is set at a time that suits you>SAVE. If you are starting your swimming exercise from the Inspire 3 watch face (it water locks automatically) you'll find the "Swim" option moves to the top of the list if it is your most frequent exercise. I prefer the auto-recognize feature as I find fiddling with my Inspire 3 poolside with wet fingers & no reading glasses is a struggle.

I hope this helps. Please post here again & let us know how you get on.

Cheers

First of all thanks for the input on the issue .
Water lock never worked for me as with wet finger when I successfully locked it at the end of the swim it wasn’t locked and I don’t have time to waste . I always use auto recognize, - I thought it was obvious- and I 99% of the cases never experienced any problem but now after the software update I attach the photo what it looks like when in the reality always swim at least 20- / 25 laps in a 50 M long pool and my swim time between 20 or 30 minutes always . Now the app got both things wrong , the time and the excercise too. This is very disappointing, luckily my watch is still under warranty so if Fitbit is not going to do something about I will leave this company and I won’t bother . My whole point for wearing any smart watch is not to push it all the time just log my activity. If it can’t do it , it’s useless for me. I had the Fitbit HR first which was great until it was working : it had a phisical button and on the main screen it showed the actual time, my heart rate , my step count and the date. Now the newer version Fitbit inspire 3 can not do this so it’s already a step back for me. Huge disappointment!

Hi, @fit2025user, thanks for your feedback, If you are not engaging the waterlock this may be contributing to your problem. I always engage it before going to the pool when my hands are dry. You will note that the double tap needs to be quite firm (I use the side of my thumb) once the lock is engaged you will see a text line at the top of your Inspire 3 screen. May I also suggest you check the swim settings on your Inspire 3? From the clock screen swipe sideways to "Exercise & then swipe up to & touch "swim">swipe up to "pool length" & note the default setting is 25 metres - this may have been changed by the recent update.

Let us know how you get on by posting here again.

Cheers

So the water lock was never needed before and when I enter the pool it’s always after Sauna sessions and cold plunge so my hands are never dry and even if it was my main reason for buying the inspire 3 was because my previous Fitbit was tracking all my activities without having to push any buttons before / after starting it… the length I already checked and it is set at 50 m which is the actual length of the pool I’m using . Are you working for Fitbit developers or you are just a fellow Fitbit user ?

@fit2025user   That firmware update included an update to the Exercise app.  This is an Auto-Start feature that can start the Exercise app for six different activities: walk, run, bike, elliptical, rowing, and spinning.  You need to turn off the Auto-Start feature in each shortcut to make them stop.  Open your Exercise app on your Inspire 3 and select Rowing.  Swipe up and look for the Auto-Start option and turn it off.  Turn it off in each of those exercises to make it stop.

Fitbit added this feature to several other models, too.  Fitbit didn't advertise it well.  You aren't the only user who faced this.  Just adjust your settings.

Got it, I just turned it off but in the App I didn’t find any option only on the watch itself . I will see how this will work and give a feedback here next week . However I checked other exercises and others didn’t have this auto- detect -turn off function.
