Recent issues with Fitbit Inspire 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As of the last couple of weeks I've run into the following problems:

- Alarms have stopped working,

- Device was registering data on the wrong day, resulting in data missing now

- (Manual) sync barely works, have to start/stop bluetooth on my phone and will have to restart the device multiple times to make the sync work, took me over an hour of attempts to get it synced, as though every attempt makes it more difficult

- App will no longer automatically sync, only manually

Restarts of either phone or Fitbit doesn't appear to do anything to resolve the issue. Please make it behave like normal as my previous Fitbit devices did for years.

Hi, @palhargitai, welcome to the community, you appear to have two problems relating to, syncing and alarms. May I draw your attention to these articles How do Fitbit devices sync their data?  , Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and How do I manage alarms on my Fitbit device?

You do not mention the make or model of your mobile phone, this article explains the minimum requirements Fitbit Supported Devices , in particular note the OS requirements.

Under normal circumstances your Fitbit app on your mobile phone will sync with your Inspire 3 each time it's opened, if you have just woken and are looking for your sleep stats you will need to manually sync a second time to recover the data from Fitbit's server. This is simply done by sliding your finger down the "Today" screen and releasing, you will of course need to be within Bluetooth range of your Inspire 3.

It might be possible you are not feeling the vibration from your alarm, on your Inspire 3, from the clock screen >swipe down to and touch settings>swipe up to vibrations and set to strong>swipe down to quiet more and ensure you do not have DND, sleep schedule or exercise focus engaged (an alarm should not be affected by these settings but it's worth checking)

The missing data and the wrong date are syncing symptoms.

If you are continuing to experience problems check the settings of the Fitbit app in your phone app tray. I'm not familiar with the iPhone but can tell you in an Android phone go to settings>apps>fItbit>allow all permissions>clear cache>allow background data & unrestricted data usage, ensure your data account has sufficient credit>set app battery usage to unrestricted>alarms and reminders allowed.

Return to the Fitbit app & sync.

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers

Hi,

indeed, apologies!

This is about an iPhone 13 with iOS 16.5.1(c)
Fitbit App version 3.87

Device: Fitbit Inspire 3 with Firmware version 20001.188.58.

I'm aware of the limitations of the syncing. In this case it took me a full hour of attempts, while having the app open, to try to get the sync to work. As in, I had to pull down over repeated attempts with various permutations of restarting bluetooth and the device for it to work. This issue gradually got worse over the past months until it really didn't want to function anymore.

With regard to the alarms, in the end I have removed all the alarms and re-added them, this seemed to have resolved the issue. Even removing one alarm and re-adding it didn't help, only removing all of them I was able to make a new alarm work. I have used focus mode on my phone for quite some time, this has never influenced my fitbit. Also I have used a Fitbit or similar device for several years and always woke up from the vibration. In this case the device really did nothing anymore. I did oversleep once because of this :-(.

Incidentally the sync actually works right now after removing and re-adding the alarms. It almost seems like the alarms killed the sync.

Hi, @palhargitai, Thanks for the update, I'm pleased you seem to have resolved your problem, crossed my fingers that it remains that way. I'm hampered to the extent that I know very little about iOS phones, if you think it might have been iOS related I draw your attention to  iOS App - Fitbit Community

Cheers
