Reduce bluetooth EMF emissions by disabling notifications

I found that you can reduce EMF emissions by disabling all notifications in your phone's settings.

Although I'm sure the team at Fitbit will find a way to spite the users and make sure it emits as much EMF as possible in a future firmware version.

The amount of Bluetooth EMF from a wrist-worn fitness tracker is negligible, and far safer compared to the Bluetooth earbuds that everyone likes to keep in their ears 24/7, so I'm not at all concerned about wearing my Inspire 3 device.

I never said that it's unsafe.

Is there a technical reason for why such feature isn't implemented? Or is it rather political?

As far as I can tell from the phone Fitbit App and Fitbit App settings, notifications can be disabled it the User chooses to do so.  Is that not the case?

I mean, is there a valid reason why the option of completely disabling bluetooth isn't implemented?

I've just found a way to decrease bluetooth emissions but not cut them out completely. I shared my findings with the community so that others can decrease their bluetooth emissions. I'm sure FItbit will fight back and double down on the bluetooth emissions after my post.

The Fitbit devices use Bluetooth to communicate with the phone App to sync the fitness data collected in the device to the App so it can be conveniently displayed and organized for viewing.

It seems pointless to do this, but I suppose that you could just unpair your Inspire 3 from your phone, delete the Fitbit App and just use the Inspire 3 display to view your data if you are that concerned about Bluetooth EMF.

To put your concern about the Bluetooth EMF of the fitness tracker into perspective, the WiFi power level of the phone that you use when the WiFi is enabled is about 6 times higher than the Bluetooth power level in the fitness tracker.

Ok but I can disable the WiFi on my phone. Why can't I disable bluetooth on the Fitbit? Is there a technical reason for this to be impossible?

There is no point in making disabling Bluetooth a design feature with this product, because it is intended to be used with the App to get the best customer experience possible.

Using an Inspire 3 as a stand-alone fitness device with the tiny screen would be an underwhelming customer experience, at best.

Many work environments do not allow bluetooth or other RF emissions.

The device can store many days worth of data. It does not need to synchronize constantly with the phone app, but once a day or once a week, as the user decides. A simple option could be included in the parameters for turning bluetooth on and off.

What fitness tracker have you found that meets your requirement of either not having Bluetooth at all, or having the option of disabling Bluetooth?

I have not searched other fitness trackers as I like the Fitbit.

With that out of the way, is there a technical reason for why this feature can't be implemented on the fitbit? Of turning on and off bluetooth at will?

There is no technical reason that limits a fitness tracker design from providing a method to disable Bluetooth, if needed, but it just doesn't make sense to do so for the reasons that I stated above, which helps to explain why no fitness tracker that I am aware of provides that functionality.

If you are not comfortable with owning a fitness tracker that uses Bluetooth paired with a phone App to provide the customer experience that these products are designed for and most people want, then perhaps you should consider returning or selling your Inspire 3 device and then just purchase a good analog watch.
