Sleep data is wrong!

I’m so frustrated!!! For the last week or so my sleep data says I’m only sleeping between 1 and 2 hours a night! I know I don’t get enough sleep but this is wrong! Tracking my sleep is 1 of the main reasons I got an Inspire 3. I’ve tried all the tips I could find. 😢

Welcome to the forums @Gabee01.

Sorry to know that. Thank you for providing the details regarding this issue with your device and the attempts to fix it by your own.

Even though you did the steps already, please confirm that you have complete a restart procedure following the steps listed here.

Please keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days. In the meantime, for the nights that don't have sleep data, you can manually log your sleep by going to the Fitbit app.

  • Manually log our sleep data, really?? How on earth could a person do that accurately? That’s the whole point, it USED to track minutes asleep, and awake, along with quality of sleep. Now, I feel like it either misses sleep time, or doesn’t break it down all the time! I often awaken during my sleep, may take a short time to get back to sleep. In the previous tracking ( before upgrade) , it would show that, and still record sleep after that. Now, it just ends at the first time awakening, even if I sleep for another four hours or so!!! This is important to me, rendering the Fitbit far less useful now.

It’s absolutely ridiculous!!! Mine does the same

I am having the same problem.  Last night I had a wonderfully long sleep but FitBit recorded 2 different sleeps with about 1 1/2 hours between the two.  Two different sleep scores.  I didn't have a big gap in my sleep last night.   Why did Fitbit decide that I was awake and why did it split the sleep into two blocks with two different sleep scores!!!!! Argh.

Update: November 5.  Fitbit didn't properly account for the change in daylight savings.  It completely ignored that extra hour.  (I accounted for sleep start to sleep end, less the time awake.)

I’m disappointed to read that this is a problem with Inspire3 I have just started to use mine and it only records the first section of sleep, once Iv woken or got up, it doesn’t record any more. So disappointed!! Will it help if I change sleep tracking from Normal to Sensitive?

I have mine set to sensitive. It's worth a try. I hope this helps, Pirribee.

Same with me!

I used to have an inspire 3 that I gave to my mum that did not have this problem. Bought another one for myself and it hasn’t logged a single night correctly. Most nights it just doesn’t log any data at all and I need to manually enter it in! So frustrated!

Me, too. It is super annoying.

I just tried changing my settings to Sensitive- it’s been 2 or 3 days, but no change yet.☹️

Ten days later, I don’t see any difference since changing settings to “sensitive.”😔

So, last night I went to sleep at 2am, got up shortly after 5am for restroom back to sleep until 8:15. My Fitbit registered sleep at 1:57 am, awake at 4:56 am? and that’s it! So, since I was aware of times, I tried to edit the log and make it end at 8 am. It did, with the entire space full of red and blue vertical lines! How does that help?

Mine works like that. Once Iv got up, it does not register that I went back to sleep for another 3 pr 4 hours. Iv got mine now set to normal instead of sensitive I do get some accurate reading but can’t rely on it. It’s been a very disappointing purchase for me, as I bought it for the sleep readings primarily. I’m still undecided whether to return it as faulty and buy different one altogether. !
