My inspire 3 is only showing basic sleep data. I have tried all of the recommendations in help, restarting, proper fit, using auto detect, etc. The only method that has worked is logging out of the Fitbit app at bedtime and staying logged out until waking, then logging back into app and syncing. This results in detailed sleep data being available. It seems I shouldn't have to do this to get detailed sleep data. It used to work well without doing this.

Hi, @Lonita welcome, have you seen How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? - Fitbit Help Center it contains advice & guidance. In particular, the need to be at rest for about an hour before it starts tracking. If you are a restless sleeper this will disturb the cycle.
As an experiment, you might get a friend or family member to wear it overnight to see if the results are improved.
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers

I have exactly the same problem with an Inspire 3, purchased just 3 days ago. The sleep data recorded fine the first night but for the last two nights it has only recorded the basic data which is the next best thing to useless!
Research in the forums and the help section suggests that the problem is related to heart rate data not being recorded which leads me to another issue that could possibly be related.
The first day using the device I manually triggered an exercise event in the App and when reviewed in the Dashboard it clearly shows a line with my heart rate readings. However, for the last two days the heart rate line is missing from subsequent events triggered in the App.
What is interesting about all of this is that in exercise events triggered directly from the device itself the heart rate line is clearly recorded.
I have the latest updates installed on both the device and the app.

Hi, @MaxSM welcome to the community, allowing you have reviewed the link in my earlier post, you may also be interested in How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device. - Fitbit Help Center
Go to "Settings" in your Inspire 3 & check the slider for Heart Rate has NOT inadvertently been turned to the "off" position. From the clock screen swipe down to settings>swipe up to and touch Heart Rate. If you find it is in the on position, turn it off & then on again before returning to the clock screen. Sync your Fitbit app & go to the Heart Rate screen by swiping up the "Today" screen - you should see an HR graph. If you do not see the HR tile on the Today screen you'll need to edit the screen to get it up. On the "Today" screen swipe down to reveal & touch the editing pen in the top right, and swipe up to reveal the bottom where you'll see any missing tiles.
Let us know how you get on by posting here again.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply.
Since my last post I've done what @Lonita has found and left the app turned off when sleeping and I'm now getting the complete sleep data being recorded. I'll continue doing this for a few days and may then give it another go leaving the app running.
In the meantime the workaround is working.

Oh, that's a bit unfortunate....hopefully mine keeps working.
I'll report back in a few days with any changes.

Since my last reply I've done a heap of experimenting and I think I've finally got this thing nailed.
There are multiple ways to trigger exercise and sleep events and the method you choose has a significant bearing on the data recorded. The data recorded is also dependent on the Focus settings you make in the Edit Today section.
Focus: To edit these settings in the app, make sure you are in the Today screen and the current day, tap on the pencil icon to go to the Choose Focus section and there are a number of presets available. I played around with the various presets before choosing the Custom preset and turned on only the settings that were of interest to me.
These are the Health, Sleep and Exercise areas so in the Health section I checked Health Metrics and Heart checkboxes and left the others unchecked.
In the Sleep section I checked Sleep Duration, and in the Activity section I checked everything.
In the Stress & Mindfulness section and the Nutrition section I left everything unchecked.
Tap on Save to complete the update and exit to the Today screen.
Exercise: With the desired settings in place there are numerous ways to trigger an exercise event, both manually and automatically, with the app running and with the app turned off, and each of these options will record different data depending on the method you choose.
I won’t go into the details on each one but the only method I've found that will record all of the data is to trigger the exercise event manually from the Fitbit device while the app is running in the background. In all of the other options one of more of the map and data lines will be missing and it varies with each option!
Sleep: Sleep events can be triggered both manually and automatically but the only way I’ve found to have all the data recorded is to turn the app OFF, let the Fitbit device trigger the sleep event automatically and then open the app when you wake up in the morning to sync the data.
This usually happens automatically when you start the app, but I have found it necessary a couple of times to sync it manually.
I’ve also found that the Oxygen Saturation reading is sometimes a bit slow to update but eventually it does.
Each morning I get a notification on my phone telling me it’s best to have the app running in the background but this is clearly not the best option in all cases.
I hope this is of some help.

Having the same issue since Feb. 20. Have done everything suggested had husband wear and same results. Is this a software glitch since many wearers are having same problem since end of February?

Thanks for your response. I have been having this issue since February 16th so it may be related to a updated software glitch.

I'm assuming you've already checked the settings in the watch itself, and you've also checked for app updates in the app store. I seem to recall there was an app update a week or two back.
I would also suggest doing a restart in the watch after any changes to the settings in the app.
With the changes I've made mine's working fine now so I hope you can get it sorted.

I have done everything you mentioned. It seems to have started misbehaving after the most recent update.
