Did you mean:

Steps are not recording miles.

I have completed over 19,500 steps so far today however my Inspire 3 has only recorded 0.5 miles.  I have had this issues since 15 August and did the work around suggested on here.  I also chatted to Juan yesterday who asked me to reboot and add my device again.  I still have the same issue today.  Has something gone wrong with the software?

Hi, @LizMcc66 welcome, May I suggest that you try the following change to your Fitbit app settings on your Phone? Touch your icon in the top right of the "Today" screen>Fitbit Settings>exercise>Stride length>ensure the "set automatically" slider is in the "off" position>reset the stride lengths manually & leave the automatic slider in the "off" position.

Let us know how you get on by posting here again.

Cheers

I am sure I have already done this however I shall do it again and see if the miles calculate tomorrow when I am out.

I did this and the miles are now recording however I still have to say yes when it asks if I am exercising.  It is just a pain doing this as everything just worked before without as much manual intervention.

Hi, @Nathantulip welcome, did you follow the steps I described in my earlier post? Once completed it's a good idea to sync your Fitbit app a couple of time by sliding your finger down the "Today" screen & releasing it. Please let us know how you get on.

Cheers

I’m having the exact same issue!

Mine is linked to using my GPS aswell - if I do a long walk of a run my step count or right but the miles are wrong. Then the app freezes all the time!!!

No this didn’t work! It’s recorded today as 0 miles and some other days simply aren’t right at all!!

IMG_1249.pngIt’s been going on a while now!! It’s really annoying. The Fitbit website was he only place I could get accurate info so it’s definitely an app issue! Now the dashboard is gone I can’t get anything accurate. I’ve raised several requests about it - logging in and out doesn’t help, my device is only 10months old so it’s not the age of that either. I’ll more than likely just trade to something better and more reliable and accurate!

Hi, @danit84 General issues as you describe are best approached by restarting your Inspire 3 How do I restart my Fitbit device? - Fitbit Help Center . You appear to have an update outstanding (see the red dot in the top left Icon) If you touch the icon in the top left corner you should be presented with an update option you may find the issue is resolved once you have updated the app. I assume that you are starting a "Walk" exercise via the Inspire 3 or relying on the auto-recognize feature (walking more than 15 minutes) and anticipate a mileage record. If you are still stuck or are not able to install an update (you must have an internet connection) then I recommend you Sync your Fitbit app, force stop the Fitbit app in your phone settings>clear cache & storage> delete the Fitbit app>restart your phone>reload the Fitbit app & set up the Inspire 3 again. May I suggest you also review this thread Solved: Re: Charge 5 is not tracking my distance - Page 5 - Fitbit Community  Please post here again & let us know how you get on.

Cheers

I’ve tried several restarts, removing the app etc. deleting the caches Celeste’s all the historical data and that’s important to me for different reasons.
Generally speaking I started the walk or run on my watch, but not always, sometimes I start it on the app and sometimes i forget and or auto recognises.
I don’t think it’s a case of ‘casual walking’ when I walk solid for 3-4 hrs completing 10 miles and well over 20,000 steps there is no way or should class this as a casual walking and not log a mileage count. It picks up all sorts of other things like thinking I’m on a bike when I mow my lawn and thinking I’m swimming when washing the dishes.
I will take a look at the other thread thank you for that. At this point I think it’s just a dodgy design flaw in the app and it’s tracking data. Should t need to clear cache, you should be able to start an exercise any which way to the same result, and even log on after the event.

Even my sleep scores get all muddled at times So it is not just one thing here.
