Need a tide app for Android with simple messages/notifications for Inspire 3.
For years I've procrastinated getting a tide watch (there are maybe three brands I'd consider), one with highs and lows from most anywhere on the planet I might be. Now that I have an Inspire 3 that can display notifications from my phone (Pixel 6, Android 13), I think an Android app and the Fitbit combo can do what I want. I'd like to tell the phone app where I am and have messages show up on the Fitbit with the next high or low tide. Pretty simple stuff in theory, but I'm not finding a good solution out there. I don't mind paying a little for a good app.
If there's nothing really appropriate, I can develop something but I've not created apps for Android before, so I'd have to decide on tools I'd like.
Tide app suggestions???

You might be able to do something through an Android app through phone - I haven't messed with those. In my previous reply, I was just thinking about apps on the Fitbit itself. I might have misinterpreted what you were looking for.

In the Fitbit world, I think you would need a 3rd-party app which are generally available only on the "smart watches" such as Sense and Versa families, not on the "trackers" such as the Inspire family. However, the problem is the newest "smart watch" releases don't seem to allow third-party apps. I think the only one Fitbit is still selling that would have them is the Versa 2, and there seems to be a rash of them crashing with no fix. If you would choose to get a Versa 2, otherwise a good product in my opinion, make sure you get it from a certified dealer so get full warranty.

Thanks JR.
I haven't figured out how to get the fitbit to show the notifications from a tide app yet, even though they pop up on my phone.
However, it does automatically show notifications from items on my Google Calendar. So one possibility is subscribing to a calendar of tide times and having them generate notifications. To get one for the area I want I might have to create and publish my own tide calendar, which could be driven by data from a published tide chart.
I still am not convinced it isn't possible to get notifications from an existing tide app to show on the fitbit, though.
