Untrustworthy readings

ANSWERED

I wear my Fitbit on my left wrist. I have recently broken my right wrist so am having to do everything left handed. I noticed my steps have hugely increased, but also today It has recorded me swimming for 15 minutes, which I haven't done. But when I do swim it never records it!! I'm very confused!!

@Jananna I think it would help if you change your left hand to dominant in the Fitbit app. That should cause the Fitbit to ignore some of those extra movements that your left hand is now making.

To do this, open the Fitbit app and tap the device icon on the upper left of the screen. Select your device near the top of the next screen. Swipe up until you see "wrist placement". Tap that and select "Dominant".

Good luck with your wrist! I wish you an uneventful recovery.

Thank you so much. I have changed the setting and it seems to have worked. Hopefully I will be able to change it again in a few weeks!! 😊
