I am new to FitBit, and so far I am underwhelmed.
Inspire 3
Cons:
1. The wrist band is a synthetic silicone material that is not breathable. There are no woven band options. the band is irritating if worn for more than a short period. It traps moisture on the skin. It is so uncomfortable that I bought an Inspire 2 so that I could purchase an after-market woven band. It is way more comfortable than the woven band. I bought a clip for the Inspire 3, but...
2. The app does not support more than one device. I thought I could wear the Inspire 2 on my wrist and clip the inspire 3 on to my waist to count my steps while on my treadmill desk because the wrist does not move while on the treadmill desk, and therefore steps are not counted. But no. Only one device per account, so I have to create 2 separate accounts and sync the devices separately. Not going to happen.
3. The inspire 3 does not count steps accurately while on the treadmill desk. So I tried it with an ankle strap, but that counted too many steps. At least double what I was taking. Then I read that I could put the device in my cargo pants pocket just above my knee to get accurate steps. So now, in addition to buying two Fitbit Inspires and a clip attachment for the 3, and woven bands for the 2, and an ankle band for the 3, I gotta buy cargo pants????? I looked for yoga pants that would have a thigh pocket, but women's wear is notorious for its failure to affix pockets to garments. Another community member uses a shoelace threaded through the hole in the wrist band and tied to her thigh above the knee. A shoelace... I thought maybe a garter would work, so I bought a garter to clip my Inspire 3 on, but the garter slips down, so another fail. And the shoelace hack has a disclaimer stating that the step accuracy only works at 1.2 mph or more, so it does not even count slow steps... I mean at what point does one concede that the device itself fails to do its actual job? How many hacks are necessary?
4. At what point does one realize that they have fallen into a sunk cost fallacy, and that there is no actual solution to getting anything useful out of the Inspire 2 or 3 if used with a treadmill desk?
5. Which leaves me with this question: What is a Fitbit Inspire even for? As far as I can tell, the Inspire 2 is a watch and the Inspire 3 is a desk-drawer-paper-weight that requires periodic charging and gives nothing in return for its energy consumption.

Hi, @vacme , have you checked whether your Inspire 2 woven band will fit your Inspire 3? While my Inspire 2 metal bands won’t fit the Inspire 3, my leather one does. (FYI it is the Inspire 2 Horween double wrap band, and it fits nicely. I am guessing - but can’t confirm - that the single wrap band would fit as well. They are both currently on sale on the Fitbit website.)
I can’t help much with the issue of only one of the newer devices per account. If you can get hold of a working Fitbit “Charge 2”, that can be set up on your account along with the Inspire 3.

LOL! I love the silicone wristbands. I cannot wear a band that has any metal touching my skin whatsoever so the silicone is great - I would hate a woven band. I have used mine on the treadmill, with my hands holding the rails, and it absolutely does count steps. If yours does not, it must be defective.
