Why won’t the Inspire3 continuously sync?

My Inspire 3 only syncs when I open the app. Even then, it can take a long time or not sync at all. 

At the same time, messages appear from Fitbit telling me to enable a feature that allows it to sync automatically without opening the app. I cannot find anywhere in the systems to see where to enable this feature. 

 

How can I enable the sync feature to continuously sync so I don’t have to open the app?

@Jenna524 , A warm welcome to the Community!  Thank you for your information and efforts. 

The notification you receive is to let the Fitbit app run in the background. 

Depending on the operation system on your device the setting might be different.

For iOS the setting you are looking for is Background App Refresh . This should be here: 

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Background App Refresh.
