Zone Minutes

My Inspire 3 app just updated, now it is recording my Zone minutes at a greatly reduced rate. My daily target is set at 22 and in the past it was recording much higher totals, often over 100. A ten minute workout could record over 40 zone minutes. Today a 15 minute w/o gained me 4 zone minutes! How do I retrieve my previous scores?

Hi, @MamieJ , I don’t understand how you could workout for 10 minutes and yet get credit for 40 zone minutes.  You can’t get more zone minutes than total minutes!  It sounds like there was an error there.

Your zone minutes will be based on what heartrate your Fitbit detects during your workout.  If you find that your Fitbit is not accurately detecting your heartrate during a workout, it may be that you need to wear your Fitbit a little higher and a little tighter during the workout.  Also make sure that the back of the Fitbit is clean and that there is good contact with your skin (and not too much sweat, which can also interfere with heart rate detection).

@MamieJ   You mentioned an update.  The Inspire 3 got a firmware update that changed the heart rate algorithm.  Fitbit /Google claims that it is more accurate during exercise.  Many users are saying that they get fewer zone minutes for the same workout.  Fitbit changed this for all the current models, so people who use different models see this, too.  You might or might not see a change with @Julia_G's suggestions.

To clarify one thing, zone minutes are 2x the number if minutes when you are in the vigorous and peak zones.  The maximum number of zone minutes in a 10 minute workout is 20 AZMs.
