my ionic is reporting 2 different step count. 4,719 step count after syncing and 3,884 step count when the tab is expanded. I’m not complaining but would be great if anyone has a fix for this. Thanks!

@dclarabDon't worry about the phantom steps... A vibrating fan can cause that and just walking past a table and slight vibrations.. Like going out into the wind you will get phantom floors..
After years of Fitbit I find it all evens out in the end.. I lose about 1,000 steps just using the shopping trolley and over a week that's a few steps because I shop for 4 adults. Walking in my suburbs I can lose 9 floors because they are marginal 9-10' but on a windy day I can gain about 15... Again all evens out. I try to use the shopping basket and forget the Fitbit is on my left wrist and lose some steps there with the basket on that wrist.
Look at my gardening, the first 40 minutes is weeding, walking, pruning etc, and it auto detect walking. As soon as I was kneeling on the lawn, breaking out flat weeds it didn't auto detect anything. So in an area of around 120sqm (145sqyd) I have created 4,000+ steps and 3.2 km (2mi)
Calories and the scales is what I keep an eye on.. I lowered my goal to 7,000 steps to cater for the lost steps and watched the Calories in/out.. Losing about .5kg/week (1.1lb) And 93 minutes active..... The HR graph at the end shows the "burn" and my RHR is 53 so I'm happy about that.
If you haven't created an Activity Record (the ones with the very small stopwatch next to the activity description..using the large stopwatch at the bottom of the PC activity Log... It's a pure copy of your data and that's why the N/A has been replaced by KM....
Over and out and enjoy your Ionic....

All I did was just to sync to my phone via bluebooth.
I left the ionic on my table and it recorded 109 steps. Maybe a phantom wearer 😱
I’ll just live with this until fitbit releases a new update. Thanks for your help!

@dclarabI have noticed that, and from my checking it appears to be a lag between the sync and possibly the Fitbit server. I had it happen a few minutes ago and I synced, tapped the steps tile, which was correct but the graph still had the previous "before sync" number displayed. It all balanced a few minutes later.

Thanks for your reply Colin! I thought that could be the issue and checked on my step count for yesterday. It showed 14,710 steps and after expanding it, it shows a total of 8,502 steps. Quite a big difference.
Does it take long for the fitbit server to sync? I didn’t have this issue in a charge 2

@dclarabIt would be nice to know the sequence of the syncing..
I feel it syncs the Fitbit to the phone, then to the server. At the server end it then accumulates and the return sync ensures all is in "sync".. Hence the delay in the background data behind the dashboard, ie the graphs etc.
