Hello all,
Can you receive notifications from 3rd party email apps such as TypeApp (Android)?
I do not use native the gmail app and it appears that's the only option I have for email notifications in the Fitbit app
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
Thanks
Jared

Yes, if the app is capable of giving notifications, the ionic will receive them. I had three different email clients delivering alerts before I switched them off. You need to select which app’s notifications you want from within the settings on the phone app. Once the app sends a notification it should show up as an app option in Settings.

@JaredNoel When you go into your Ionic Settings tap on App Notifications and every App on your phone capable of notifications is there. You should find your 3rd party email there.

Hello and thank you greatly for your response.
To clarify email notifications are turned on, however only the native Gmail app is listed and I am unable to choose any others
Thanks again!

@JaredNoel Thanks for confirming that. You have now helped many others. I'm in my bank waiting and your email header buzzed on my Ionic from my provider email.

What about other apps on that list? I enabled another app on the fitbit app to send notifications to my Fitbit ionic. However, they do not come through when I get the notification on my phone.
Texts and calls are working but not other apps I sele

@Kristen8989All of my MS Outlook emails are coming through as well as gmail. I had to tick two options and not knowing what your phone is I can only guide you on my Android.
I set the gmail option in the Fitbit Ionic account settings under Notifications.
Then
I had to go into the Phone Settings, Notifications.... On Fitbit I set "Do not Disturb overridden" ... and I'm sure I then selected the button for each application that was needed to notify. That has disappeared but all of my expected notifications are working.
Also "On the lock screen" I have "show all notification content"

Thanks, I have a Google pixel. I selected the apps I wanted on the Fitbit application. I then tried going into my phone settings and changed the app I wanted to work on the ionic to "override do not disturb" but it still didn't come up on my watch when it came up on my phone. The other ones, texts and calls work though

@Kristen8989THat's why I mentioned a tick box beside the Apps you wanted to communicate and that's missing.. I'm still researching and can't find anything.
