I just bought the ionic a week ago and I love it!!!. It's everthing I ever wanted fom a fitbit wacth especially after owning the blaze watch(which still runs amazing after years of use). The only thing I wish for is for spotify to be added onto it like the versa watch does. I am using the deezer app for music currently but I have always been on spotify for music and it would be perfect to use on my ionic when I'm running. Please add it to Ionic!

Welcome to the Community @Jcelcid. I'm glad to hear that you're loving your Fitbit Ionic and you're enjoying it.
I have great news for you, Spotify will be released for Ionic as you can see in this feature: Spotify for Ionic/Versa. This should be implemented in one of the next firmware releases, keep an eye on the Fitbit page.
Let me know how it goes.

So I just set up my fit bit ionic after moving from Apple to Android. (The Apple watch did everything I needed, but our family has moved to Android and it was time to update Apple at a potential great expense!
Having researched other smartwatches I was delighted to find the Ionic as it is perfect for fitness monitoring and amongst other things, advertised Fitbit Pay as well as Spotify Apps.
Fitbit Pay is almost useless - supported by only a very few rather obscure credit cards, none of which I have 😞
A quote in the info from the App store says:-
"Spotify on Fitbit Versa Family and Fitbit Ionic requires a Spotify Premium account" I have this, so imagine how disappointed I was to go to the app store only to be told on downloading that it is NOT compatible with my device! Whats going on?? Surely you can get this sorted ...........

@GrazzA Welcome to the Community. I'm glad to hear that you bought a Fitbit Ionic.
Your feedback and comments are appreciated, these help us to continue improving and implement features shared by you.
Since you mentioned that your cards aren't supported, you may want to post your card in our Feature Suggestion board, those are reviewed by our team and the status will change based in Fitbit's plans.
Regarding Spotify on Ionic, this hasn't been released yet but it's on Fitbit's plans this should be released in one of the following firmware updates. There's a HR Spotify in Fitbit App Gallery but this isn't an official app from Fitbit.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Can you clarify this please:
"Regarding Spotify on Ionic, this hasn't been released yet but it's on Fitbit's plans this should be released in one of the following firmware updates."
My Ionic Firmware was updated 2 days ago, and Spotify is not available. Is there another update due? Please give some idea as to timescale, there must be a plan for implementing Spotify into Ionic, your customers have literally been asking for years.....years, not days, weeks or months.....years!
Fully expecting the Fitbit Standard Reply of "keep checking the forum" "we are working on it" "it is coming soon"...blah, blah, blah!!
Seriously don't know how Fitbit still sell anything but the cheap end trackers. Apple and co must be loving how poor you continue to be.

Thank you, I will comment regarding the cards on the site you specified
Regarding my other query - Spotify, I still don't know why the app informations says that Spotify for Ionic requires a premium membership when the app isn't available for Ionic??

Hey everyone!
I'm glad to announce that Spotify for Ionic has been enabled and you can start enjoying it. You need to download Spotify from Fitbit App Gallery and you will need a firmware with OS 4.0 or later to install it.
You can check this article to learn more about how to install and manage apps on your Fitbit watch.
Let me know if you have any additional question!

Great news, how do I download Spotify playlists to my ionic so that I can use whilst running?

I currently cant add any music to my Ionic. Im using Apple MAcBook. The App for computer says doesn't work with Ionic and to use App on my mobile (an android phone) The App on the mobile says use the App on my computer 😤

Not sure you can. I looked at it briefly last night, didn't see anyway of syncing a playlist to the Ionic. Hopefully someone can clarify, otherwise it's a completely useless app because you could always control music on your phone from the watch, the whole point is not having to carry the phone!!
If you haven't tried it, I would recommend the Deezr app. It's free for 3 months. I've built a 4 hour playlist and download to the Ionic oiver WiFi with no issues at all. Works a treat out running. I was honestly expecting the Spotify app to be at least as good!

@SunsetRunner Spotify app cannot be used for offline playback. It is not a player, it's a remote control.

Very disappointing isn't it? Oh well, Deezer it is for a couple of months. I wonder if the downloaded content stays on the watch after cancelling the subscription?

Why can't we download the songs?
It is useless if I have to keep my phone on my pocket.

What a waste of time this is! Spotify can only be used as a remote control for phone, I don't want to take my phone running, thats the whole point - very disappointed to say the least

@SunsetRunner thank you, very frustrating isn't it!!
I'll try Deezer though having to have 2 registrations just so I can use Ionic music is mad. I cant access the music anyway as computer App says use phone and the phone App says use computer!! My Apple watch was never like this

I did the latest update and I have Premium Spotify but it will not let me install the app. The button is gray and I can't click on it... Is this a common problem?

@MrsTwitch I didn't have this problem, however the Spotify App on Ionic doesn't do much apart from letting you control Spotify on your phone or computer, you cant play Spotify music through it!! So if unless you want to only do this, I wouldn't bother installing the app in the first place.
Deezer works as they (Fitbit) obviously have an arrangement re forcing subscription BUT Spotify aarrgghhhh!!!

Hey everyone!
The Spotify app will let you control your music playing on the Spotify app on your phone, computer or other device, and to like songs and switch between playlists. You can learn more about it by checking this article: How do I control music playing on Spotify
For the ones that can't install Spotify app, note that your watch must be running Fitbit OS 4.0 or later to download the Spotify app from the Fitbit App Gallery.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Whats the point of this?!! I want to download my Spotify playlists to my Ionic not control my phone. Why would I want to control Spotify on my phone or laptop with my watch???
I don't want to take that running with me, that was the whole point of buying an Ionic - no phone 😣
