I have to take my Fitbit off for Tekwando - how do I add that hour of exercise to my steps?

You can manually enter activities after you have done them, on the app. I think Tekwando would not be listed so you would need to add it as a Custom Activity.

First you have to know how many calories you burn in your activity. You can google calorie calculators

Then go to the Fitbit website Dashboard (not the app) and tap the top of the Recent Exercise tile. A little thing will drop down on the bottom of the tile. Tap See More which is on the right side. A new page comes up. Move right to the bottom of this new page to the box titled Activities which is on the right side at the bottom. On the bottom of this box, in blue and small print it says Create Custom Activity. Tap that and a box comes up. Put in the title of the Activity and then fill in the start time and duration of you latest session, fill in the calories burnt and hit log. You have now created your custom activity. Bit of a trial, but you only have to do it that way once.

Next time you want to manually log it, on your phone go to the fitbit app and tap the exercise tile (the running man). On the screen that comes up tap the stopwatch icon in the top right corner. On the next page start to type in the activity. A drop down list should come up. Select the Activity off the list, fill in the details and hit Log it and you are done!

Nelly is correct.

But in answer to your question, there is no way to ADD steps to your Fitbit. If it doesn't track you doing the activity, you can only add calories, not steps.

@CaliforniaKennyIt's a few years since a few of us were advising Fitbitters like yourself with Custom Sports. We were talking about MET's and BMR etc.. That's the way we were advised by Fitbit..

For example, Tekwando has 10.3 MET's ie (10.3 times your resting/sleeping BMR calories/minute) for its effort and hence calories burned. Then we had Fitbit let us know that they were using the Mifflin-St. Jeor equations for BMR. So, Using this link my BMR is within 5 calories over 24 hours to my Fitbit BMR.  We had difficulty using the Activity graphs because of the rounding of the calories.  Sleeping was reasonably close over a 7 hour period.

Then this link to the CDC Sporting activities ,listing the MET's for typical activities.  We were using this because Fitbits basis on our activities comes from the CDC guidelines. This gave us a guideline for our efforts.  So we created Custom Activities based on our findings.

When it came to obtuse activities like my water walking when I was in rehabilitation, I had to use the CDC tables to attempt to find an effort based activity.. That gave me the calories. Then if I wanted steps I had to log it as Walking - Manual Activity and use the calories from CDC. A pain because the manual steps were not included in your Badges etc,,  But it helped me..
