Adding Walk shortcut

Hello,

I just purchased an Ionic after a long time using a Surge. The Surge did everything I wanted it to after years of faithful survice. However, it was no longer useable due to the band giving out, so I tried to replace the band but the case broke. Now I own the Ionic.

It is important that I am able to have the same features as the Surge for health reasons and I am concerned that the Ionic won't be able to live up to the task. I am trying to find a "Walk" activity so I can track my heart rate accurately throughout the walk, but all I can find is "Run." As far as the "Challenges" or the various communities, those features are not important to me.

I basically have two questions:

1) Does the watch have a Walk feature that I am missing?

2) If it does not, am I correct in thinking that there really should be no difference in performance or results  between the Run and Walk functions other than their names?

All replies are appreciated.

Cheers,

Jake

Hello @jake7363 thanks for bringing this to my attention, it's a pleasure to answer your inquiry regarding the exercise shortcuts on your new Ionic device. It's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums.

Same as you, I used to have a Surge device in the past but now I'm a Fitbit Ionic user and I love it! If you want to add the Walk or more activities to your shortcuts, you just need to do the following from your Fitbit app:

1. Tap the Ionic icon in the upper right corner

2. Slide down to Exercise Shortcuts

3. Tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner

4. Select the exercises you want to add

5. Tap Add to Ionic

6. Sync your device

Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be here. Smiley Happy

@jake7363 steps given by @RicardoFitbit should work. If you don't see "+" button then you need to remove something by swiping to the left. You can add up to 7 exercises but sometimes there are 8 on the list ( I don't know why, bug? ) and you need to remove 2 to see that button ( I had to do it just now ).
