Are these even features? I don't see it anywhere.
What happens when we board planes?
Thanks.

You can completely turn off the ionic by going to settings, about, turn off device.
You can turn it on again by pressing the home button.

Since it isn't a cellular device, it should be fine. Bluetooth/wifi are fine for take off, many airlines keep their wifi on during this time.
Airplane mode on devices typically shuts down both when started, but allow you to turn them back on while keeping cellular off.

We do need an aeroplane mode though, I want to turn off all radio transmissions sometimes, otherwise I could end up like Saul Goodman's dad and put tinfoil over my head 😉

That's what I'm saying...the Ionic doesn't send radio signals, only wifi and bluetooth which are safe. JetBlue keeps their wifi on before the flight, during take off, during the the flight, during-landing, during taxiing.
They even say you can keep your phones on, just need to turn off *cellular*. (I do understand you were making a joke though 🙂 )

As stated I still want to be able to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth transmissions when I want to. Everything is broadcast and received on frequencies.

Appears there is already a feature request for this, if you want this please vote!

Yes the Ionic absolutely sends radio signals. It has radios for Bluetooth and WiFi that transmit and receive, just like a laptop or phone.
Have you ever flown China Airlines? If it doesn't support airplane mode, you have to turn it off.

Bluetooth and WiFi ARE radio transmissions. Just not the “traditional” sort. Military installation expect ZERO transmissions and some delicate equipment is sensitive to all frequencies, not just cellular and AM/FM frequencies.

Absolutely. I frequently work around explosives and sensitive electronics where such transmissions would be very bad. These are also the times when I'm doing many of my steps and activity that I want to track.
'airplane mode' is just the consumer name for what has been a pretty basic feature of any transmitting device for the past 15 years.
I would not have bought the device had I known this was not available. Such a simple feature it might as well not tell the time either.
