I recently got some bluetooth headphones and uploaded some music to my ionic for the first time. It seemed to work fine. Then I uploaded some more, and it again seemed there were no problems.
I woke up the next day and found that all of my music was gone from the ionic. No indication of why this had happened at all. The playlists I made appear in the fitbit connect app but they contain no files anymore.
There was no warning that any files were corrupted. Actually there was no warning about anything whatsoever - the music was there one day and simply gone the next!
Does anyone know why this has happened? I'm hesitant to uplaod again, because there is no reason to expect the same thing not to happen again and I don't know the cause.
Update: I've now tried to upload music again. I've found the whole process to be completely malfunctioning. The tracks upload, but then disappear. The storage is fragmented. Some tracks of playlists upload while others don't. Whole albums upload and then disappear without warning. To add to this the fitbit connect app now no longer seems to let me edit playlists.
Something appears to be severely wrong and it is very dissapointing. I owned an mp3 player over 15 years ago that was quite capable of storing music, while this (very expensive) device 15 years on seems to be completely incapable. Perhaps my ionic is faulty? Is it possible to get it replaced if so? It is less than a year old.

@adamstokes8 Sorry you are having trouble with your music. I am not sure if this will help but I have been pretty lucky in being able to transfer music. In addition to the tips listed in the thread at the top of the forum here are a couple of things I would add or try and if you still have trouble contact support via whatever means (chat, Twitter, phone, etc.) as they are very helpful and if there is a hardware issue they can help ya!
(first thing, are the files you are trying to transfer downloaded from either like iTunes or Google Play Music? Any songs with DRM (digital copyright) will not work on the Ionic?)
1. I do not know why (it may have been because it was a replacement that I was working with) but the last time I transferred music I had a problem with the Bluetooth on my computer, turned it off and the music transfer worked.
2. I believe it transfers files via Wifi so the closer you can get your computer and Ionic to the router the smoother it seems to go.
3. I do not make separate playlist. I just drag and drop my mp3 files onto the app and transfer them that way.
Best of luck to ya!

Thanks for your response those are all reasonable tips. None of my mp3s have DRM they're not from any of the modern music internet services, I just had them all on an old hard drive. I've now done a factory reset to see if that helps. Will try restarting my mac and turning its bluetooth off too like you say (thanks).
Alway close to the router, so that can't be the issue, also I'm doing the drag and drop thing too so can't be that either, but I do appreciate your suggestions.
I also noticed some odd behaviour before a factory reset, namely, it thought it was charging when it wasn't and it was quite sluggish tracking my run this afternoon.
I'm all ears if anyone has any suggestions further.
Cheers
