Android App always saying my Ionic has an update.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Ionic is on version 27.70.8.0 - but the android app always says there is an update available.

I can do the update the watch, but the message never goes away.

How do I remove the update message so it only appears next time I have a genuine update.

Hi @alex-k, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. The message should be deleted after you complete the firmware update process. Therefore, to better assist you with this and further investigate, can you please let me know which Android mobile device are you using? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? In the meantime I receive your answers, please try the following steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the Android version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your account credentials.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Ricardo,

The phone is a motorola G7+ Running android 10 (April 2020 update).

The problem started with the install of 27.70.8.0. I have clicked on update many times since and it updates the watch (taking about 30 seconds), says the update has succeeded but the update tracker

message remains.

I will try the reinstall.

Reinstalled the app - message is still there. Tried updating the phone - update succeeded, but message did not go away.

Thanks for your reply and troubleshooting this situation with me @alex-k.

To further investigate this situation, can you please send me a screenshot of the firmware update message you receive? Also, can you please confirm if you receive the same message if you login to your Fitbit account on another device like a computer or another phone/tablet?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Thanks for your reply and the screenshots that were shared with me @alex-k.

I'll pass along this information to an appropriate department for further investigation. In the meantime, I recommend you to keep your Fitbit app up to date because an update will be released to fix bugs and overall improvements.

It was a pleasure to help you, your patience while we work on this is appreciated.
