Ever since the big update!!!!

my Fitbit app added the last 72 days of private messages!!!! Use to be only the last 30 days. There should be a way we should be able to delete our messages!!!!

It's great to see you around @SunsetRunner! The new notification center will now display the most recent 100 notifications. These cannot be deleted as it's the way that this should work.

You may want to vote for this idea Let us delete in-app notifications/messages. Those are viewed by our team and as soon as it has been implemented the status will change.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I would like to delete all of these messages as well.  Since all but one were from the scammers/pervs that somehow are able to join, I don't want to see them.  I had to remove my picture from my profile just to stop getting all of the friend requests that are bogus.  I don't need this crap back again.  I am bewildered that there isn't a function to allow us to delete messages.

I stopped getting friend requests from
These scammers/pervs as soon as I removed my picture. The issue is that now you have brought back the messages from them that had finally gone away. I even have one now that says it is from a deleted account so I cannot look at it so it always is showing as an unread message and I always have that red dot on the email icon.

This seems like something that a junior programmer could fix. Totally frustrating that Fitbit regards his as acceptable programming.

Maybe Google will listen to users and make it user friendly so that we can delete messages from people that aren’t our friends.

@gmarmy171 Thanks for getting back. Your feedback and comments are appreciated, we're always striving to improve.

I'm glad to hear that once you removed your picture, you stopped receiving those friend requests. I would like you to log out from your account and force quit it and then log back in and check if this red dot disappears.

Keep me posted.

Thank you very much for showing me how to get rid of the message waiting icon. It worked.

Now....if we could just have the ability to delete messages.....LOL

Hi Silvia, I tried replying again but the system wouldn’t let me. The red dot came back.

That one message from the deleted account is showing as not read.

I have the same red dot. It's infuriating that I can't get rid of a "look at me!!!" notification which is just a message from a spammer.
