About 10 days ago I no longer get heart rate data for my runs when wearing my ionic but starting my runs using the app (I run with my phone on long runs and prefer to hear verbal cues on distance/pace from the app through my bluetooth headphones instead of having to look at the watch). I see that multiple other users are having this issues as well.
I can't believe the answer is that you have to start it from the watch because then you don't get verbal cues.
This needs to be fixed by fitbit - otherwise I am going to Garmin by the end of this week.

A warm welcome to the Community @Hareibrunnin. Thanks for your feedback and the research done prior posting.
Currently, Fitbit Ionic doesn't have audible cues. You can set laps directly on your Ionic and this will vibrate to let you know you've reached it.
However, our Feature Suggestion board is the best place to make your voice heard, I found this idea: Audible Run Cues. You can vote and comment on it to show your support, the status will change based in Fitbit's plans.
I'll be around if you need further assistance. Hope you can stay a Fitbit customer.

Silvia - thank you for the response.
Although I agree the fitbit ionic does need audible run cues from the phone as well as the app, that wasn't the point of my post.
The point was recently in the past 10 days something changed with fitbit in that when tracking a run on your phone with the fitbit app, it no longer records your heart rate from your watch. Do you know when that will be fixed?
Thanks,
Matt

This is an issue with the latest app update, go to the board for your phone. You will find a thread about heart rate not showing up in exercises, and it doesn't matter how they where recorded.
The heart rate is still there but the app doesn't have a field to display it.
