Automatically recognising bike rides

I got the Ionic for Christmas having previously having a surge.  There are positives and negatives to the ionic but there is one thing I can't fathom.  How do I get my Fitbit to automatically recognise when I cycle.  So far only 1 of the 5 rides I have done has been recognised.  I even reduced the minimum time to 10 minutes but no luck.

@BridgfordRam, there is no way to "force" to to auto-recognize an activity - if the sensors do not detect the activity, it will not record it.  The most sure way to ensure every bike ride is recorded is to manually start the Bike exercise mode at the beginning of the ride, and stopping it at the end of the ride.

That is a real shame and reduction of functionality from the surge which picked up all of my rides.
