The other day my Ionic recorded actual awake time as a period of sleep time. I had been working most of the night and it accurately recorded about an hour of sleep at midnight. After 1AM I was awake until about 5:30, and then slept for another hour before going home at about 7. From 8 to 9 I was awake, but not wearing the watch. I put it back on about 9 and went back to bed at that point.
1. Why is actual awake time (commute home and walking to parking lot, etc.) being recorded as sleep?
2. How can I edit the log to show two distinct sleep periods? Important because they are in two different locations, and I'd like to be able to show how my call room is not as conducive to good sleep as my bedroom is.
Walking and driving during this time.
Not wearing the watch here.
Lying in bed trying to go to sleep.

It's great to see you around @Bgg1. Thanks for the details mentioned and the screenshots shared.
I would like you to restart your Ionic and make sure you're wearing it properly so it can detect your heart rate reading and your sleep stages can be detected.
Let me know how it goes.

I have basically had the same experience with two Ionic's. After getting up in the AM making my morning coffee etc. My Ionic has recorded me as sleeping for a couple hours after getting up.
Other times while working on my computer has been recorded as sleep. I can understand it might record sleep when sitting fairly still. But walking around making coffee visiting the rest room after getting up in the AM counted as sleep is pretty strange. Granted this example of making coffee is far from typical.
I think your going to have expect this can happen once in a while. If it's happening daily disregard what I suggested as possibly a somewhat normal glitch.

I have edited or deleted reported hours of sleep many times. At the top right of the screen there is a editing tool, looks like a pen. For deleting a sleep log, use the three vertical dots to the right of the editing tool, near the edge of the screen.

Not sure there is a way to do exactly what you want. As for me, I'm satisfied getting the hours of sleep somewhat close to my actual hours.
I have Sleep Apnea and download data from my CAPA machine. The data is useful but totally different Fitbits.
For me the sleep data from my Fitbit is somewhat useful but not sure of its accuracy.
For what's its worth, I doubt any sleep doctor or tech working in a sleep lab would consider looking at sleep data from a Fitbit. There are always exceptions but generally speaking it's doubtful. Sleep labs use EEG sensors to monitor brain waves to determine the amount of time spent in the different stages of sleep.
Good luck, I hope someone can help you.

To add what I just posted regarding fitbit sleep data, I was only considering the stages of sleep. Not any heart rate data during sleep. I don't have the premium app so I'm not aware of the differences or changes compared to the free app I'm using.
