Black Screen! :-(

I have had my ionic just under a year and for the past 5 days, I’ve had a black screen despite my efforts to recharge after cleaning contacts, using a new charger and attempting to reset the device. I have no lights on the back and no other “sign of life” so I’m assuming it is just dead. I doubt I’ll purchase another if it’s lifespan is less than even a year. Please help.

Seems to be happening a lot if you read all the forum posts!  I had this happen to my Ionic, have had it for approximately 15 months.  Worked one day, wasn't the next.  Black screen.  I tried: holding left and bottom right button to do a restart (nothing); holding all three buttons for any sign of life (nothing); cleaned all connections (nothing); tried wall versus usb charging (nothing); tried both charging cables (nothing); I yelled at it, I shook it, then I put it on my desk and ignored it (none of that helped either).

 

I chatted with the FitBit help desk, and they were no help.  The only help they provided was to offer a discount on my next purchase.  They were friendly, but could not fix anything.
