Black screen but otherwise working

Fitbit is having a black screen after a recent update. It syncs with the phone and tracks everything, I cannot see anything on the screen. Talked to support -they offered 25% on the next purchase is mine was 5months over 1 year. I am not buying any Fitbit again.

Hi, i have the exact same problem except mine is a Versa. Still syncing, vibrates when there’s an incoming call or message like it usually does, also the battery dies really quick since the update... usually lasts for 4 days til it needs to be charged again. 😔 tried to reached out but no answer yet. So sad i loved Fitbit since this is my 2nd watch 😔

I thought it was a problem with ionic only. Thanks for sharing that Versa had similar issues.

I'm having the same issue with my ionic. Black screen but charges and sinchronises etc.. Very weird seems to be a software issue by the looks of it

It looks like a big, I do hope they fix it. I tried everything.. Also disconnected the ionic and tried to connect it again to my phone and because the screen shows a 4 digit number that I am unable to see, I cannot longer pair it with my phone.. What a pain

Hi, yeah i also had that issue but i did a hard reset since I couldn’t see the 4 digit number, thankfully after the hard reset and installed and uninstalled the app, it synced again. Yeah, what a pain 😔

For versa i read, just press n hold the 3 buttons for 10 seconds then you should feel it vibrates like it’s restarting... hope this helps

Did you press the 3 buttons at the same time? for 10 seconds...oh  well good luck to us and hope we’ll hear from them @fitbitsupport soon, and you’re welcome

Yes i tried pressing the 3 buttons but nothing..how disappointing..i hope it can be fix..its an expensive watch. I will try and leave it so that the battery runs down for a few days and try charging it.See if it restarts that way.

Totally agree, it’s an expensive i mean not a cheap watch... i really think and hope they’ll have another update and figure how this can be fixed.

Mine has been acting goofy since the last firmware update.  I've had to do a reset 10+ times, have had constant buzzing, uninstalled/reinstalled.  It finally seemed to be back to normal and then today the screen went black.  It's still syncing to the app so that's at least something!  I've had this Ionic for over 2 years without having any issues.  It has to have something to do with this last firmware update, imo.

WoW! It is really frustrating! I wished they have a software or a way how to remove the update and just restore to the old firmware but our problem is that we couldn’t see the screen to play around even if they have an update. I’ve seen some of the other’s post was they are offering a discount of 25% to get a newer Fitbit watch 😔 so we are at a lost here! Sucks 😔

Hi, my ionic wont even syncronise anymore and is totally unresponsive, tried pressing all buttons and combinations but is completely dead.. I am going to leave it for a few days so it runs out as it had 90% charge when this happened and see if it will restart once i plug it back in to the charger. I cannot think of anything else to do...Would be nice if we could get any solution from fitbit.

@Schwartz2019 Try to disconnect your bluetooth then uninstall and install the app, there’s a chance it will recognize your ionic again

The screen is black but it's still connected via the app. Still syncing just fine. If I uninstalled/re installed, I would not be able to see the 4 digit code on the watch.
