Hi Guys!
Technical query regarding Bluetooth on the Ionic.
Is the hardware always broadcasting a Bluetooth beacon? Even when Bluetooth is disabled on phone?
I've seen a few videos on YouTube with people analysing the RF transmissions from Fitbit devices, and they appear to be constantly broadcasting every second / pulsed. Screen direction outwards (seem to be shielded inwards) were in excess of 6 V / m which makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Seems the transmission power would be around the +14dbm range from my experience in RF technology.
Is there no way of disabling Bluetooth only for manual sync?

Hi @full-stomp, nice to see you in the community.
As far as I know Fitbit devices (at least later generationss) sync via Bluetooth LE (low energy). I'm unsure as to what the power output is, but am certain you would be exposed to far greater levels of RF on a daily basis.
To answer your question though, there is no way to disable the device from broadcasting via Bluetooth, its always on.
