Hi
My new fit bit ionic has bluetooth issues which appearshould to be a common fault with new fit bit watch. Given its price tag, I think this is simply unacceptable. I expect a definite fix to the problem or simply a refund. Very disappointed to say the least!

Hi, I am also currently receiving "bluetooth issues". I am trying to set up my Ionic, it finds it and then flashes up bluetooth issues!!! This all started when I tried to sync and I was having problems with that, so decided to delete everything and start again!!! II have been using the Ionic since christmas and haven't had any serious issues other than syncing. I am seriously loosing the will to live with this Ionic, I may just go back to the Blaze.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I am having the same syncing problem. It recognizes my other fitbits but not the ionic. Seriously disappointed with this product. Wish I never spent the money on it and would rather use my other ones ☹️

Has anyone tried unpairing and repairing their Ionic with their Bluetooth?

in my case the Bluetooth issues are more on the windows 10 fitbit app side.
The watch seems to do what it's supposed to but when the app connects to it, if it was previously paired, the app doesn't recognize the watch as the one it was paired to and tries to pair again. eventually it fails and let's you know "you're connected to another device" and the only workaround is to use windows 10 devices to remove the iconic and let the app try again. it does this EVERY time.
Word of caution do not "reset your watch to factory specs" to try and solve this.
I'm now stuck at a very backlevel firmware (not sure how that happened I was current) and while several apps show on the watch they're not in the windows 10 app and there doesn't seem to be a way to resolve the issue.

Firstly make sure your phone is fully updated with the latest OS and Firmware.
If Un-pairing and then Re-pairing still doesn't work then "Force Stop" the App via Phone settings --> App Manager(Android, sorry I don't know how to get there on Windows Mobile or Apple Phones) Then restart the app. (this worked for me and I'm getting notifications fine now (restarting the phone did not solve it for me but Force stopping the app did)
I'm sure others may have some other solutions if the above does not work.

I tried unpairing and repairing my ionic and it paired with an orange question mark, which indicates a problem. What does the orange question mark mean? The flyer is connected and is green, meaning no errors.

Also have the same issues. Have tried everything possible to fix the problem. Only have had my 4 days and already missing my Apple Watch. Incredibly annoying!

I've recently ran into a syncing issue as well. I will get through "Looking for Ionic" then it'll say "Syncing" for a moment before popping up a "Bluetooth Error" message asking me to restart bluetooth. I've tried that, tried updating my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app, switching from "On" to "Pair" and attempting to pair my watch, all to no avail.
The other pieces are that my phone still works fine with all other bluetooth devices. Also my Ionic syncs just fine utilizing the Windows 10 app.
Btw. I have a Samsung S8...
Any help????

I'm having issues too and I wonder if by chance it's the latest firmware update. Received the update late last week and since then constant problems with connecting. Could be a coincidence, but then again.

@Butsee I know it will sound weird but try this... Connect your phone with any BT audio device (yes phone, not the watch and any audio device is ok, headphones, speaker etc) and see if your watch to ionic BT connection improves. Wow, Ballen84, how'd you manage that? I called yesterday about my inability to connect after having to do factory reset because so many apps kept crashing or simply stopped working. I was unable to get it to reconnect so I could set it up again with my phone and was given a hard time and loads of excuses -- like my Pixel 2 is unsupported, etc., etc. Never mind that before the factory reset it worked and before calling I had tried all the troubleshooting step. I was even asked if I could borrow someone else's phone to see if I could get it to work before they would escalate it. Very, very, very bad taste in my mouth.

That's funny, bought mine from Target on March 29 and have had pretty good luck until now and have owned a One, ChargeHR, ChargeHR2 and now the Ionic. Beyond disappointed and annoyed at this point. The HOOPS for a non-working product that's under warranty and the time wasted trying to fix something that should work.
Just today both devices have vanished from my Fitbit app...no clue why...

I am having the same issue as others on this thread. The Ionic worked great for a couple weeks. Then was spotty. Then I had to restart everything multiple times to get a sync, now II can' get the watch to connect on either my Nexus 6P or windows 10 PC. Working with support via Twitter direct message and they send you a way too long list of things to do and after doing those things, and wasting my time, still no dice.
Getting this watch to sync is exhausting. Would love the back up plan of a wired connection with the charging cable so i dont lose the data it captured but nope. Such a pain for something that is supposed to just work. Seems like the watch has weak Bluetooth since other devices are working and it simply can't function. Hopefully a firmware update is coming but since I can't connect...not sure if that would be helpful.

I’m also having exactly the same issues
the watch didn’t sync and it constantly flicking from paired to unpaired
personally I think it’s totally un exeptable and believe the Ionic is not fit for purpose..... everyone who has one should be offered a full refund
