I see many users are affected by the last round of update. I had to factory reset my ionic after the update because the watch was behaving strangely afterwards. After reset, uninstall and reinstall my ionic, I had to re-update the app (therefore the watch) in order for it to work. Practically it seems to register all data and syncs well with the app.
I notice some frustrated users were describing different problems after the update and stratified to "bluetooth" versus "wifi" update problems. What does that mean?
I had notice the ionic is not connected to "wifi" (under setting, about and wifi) and it does not matter how many times I had reconnect the watch to wifi, it turns off automatically. I was wondering if anyone had the same observation.
I would agree that Fitbit does not always do the right thing when it comes to customer services from my previous experiences. I found out it so hard to as for a replacement for defected product, even when it is under the warranty, not surprise with all the repair/replacement/warranty games that they play.

@Harry222 It's great to see you around. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.
I'll be happy to clarify your question about updating your Ionic over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. When you update your Ionic, you can do it over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, there are two procedures because we've noticed that for some users it's easy to do it from Wi-Fi while others have a better experience over Bluetooth. You can learn more about it by checking this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?
Regarding the issue you're experiencing with your Ionic not connecting to Wi-Fi. I would like you to confirm you're doing this procedure to connect your watch to Wi-Fi. If you keep seeing that your network isn't adding please try the steps on this article.
I'll be around if you have any additional question. Let me know how it goes.

@SilviaFitbit thank you for your reply. I had followed the instruction with wifi setting and still does not help. I can connect to my private home network running at 2.4 GHz.
After initial connection, with the watch sitting on the router and after entering the password, the wifi would connect. Only to disconnect by itself seconds later. I am running up to date iOS for my iphone and up to date Fitbit App.
Following the advice, I actually even uninstalled my watch again and lost the bluetooth connection and was unable to to get it back. I had to reset the watch, uninstall and reinstall to get the bluetooth to connect again.
And the watch is still not connected to Wifi, any thoughts>
