I am a Pebble user looking for a new smartwatch. I have been eyeing the Ionic as a possible replacement but after combing through the Fitbit forums I do have some concerns that I was hoping that you could give me an "honest" opinion on.
I see that there is a trend of Fitbit devices failing after a few months usage. Fitbit replaced many of these watches under warranty but I am concerned that the hardware quality is "lacking" if they fail so easily. The Ionic is not a low cost buy so if I invest in one I want it to last for years and not months. Is the Ionic's build quality much improved over the previous Fitbit watches? I know that the Ionic hasn't been on the market very long but what have you seen or heard in this regards?
A common problem with smartwtach's is a tendency to run into low battery life problems. I've seen only a few posts about occurring this on the Ionic so can I presume that the Ionic lives up to the advertised battery life of 4-5 days?
Notifications are very important to me. I wanted to make sure that notifications for phone calls, emails, and text messages can be captured and sent to the Ionic? I do know that the Ionic has limited ability to respond but all I care about is being notified.
Thank you in advance for any feedback!

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I haven't had any trouble with mine as of yet. Yes, it's build is a quality including crisp graphics amplified brightness up to 1000 nits and also durable design corning Gorilla Glass 3 Touchscreen. Please take a look at the specs here.
Battery on Ionic lasts up to 5 days with a GPS battery life up to 10 hours.
Notifications works great on Ionic. You can receive call, text, calendar events, email, and other push notifications from apps you choose. It's great!
Hope this helps. See you around!
