Your calorie counter is not close to being accurate for walking. 540 calories for 3 miles over 50 minutes is way off. It should be closer to 250. Is there a way to correct this or do I need to use my Garmin for accurate calorie calculations when walking?

Is it just a problem with walking or does the calorie burn seem high in general?
If it's a general problem then the most likely cause is that one of your profile settings for age, height, weight etc is incorrect. You can check yours at https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/edit
Can I just check that the 540 calories you see are just for the walk and are not the total calories shown on the fitbit which include the BMR calories since midnight.
Is the distance tracked for the walk looking ok? If it is too high then it may be using too high a stride length which will inflate the calories. You can check this too in your profile settings.

My profile is correct, the distance is correct, all settings are correct. What’s odd is if you manually enter the walk with the exact same pace, distance, time etc. you get an accurate estimate. For example 2.8 miles, 55 minutes gets you 267 cal by manually entering the event. If i use the GPS and record the event in walking mode i automatically get 550+ cal. The manual entry works better so guess i can’t use the app and GPS for walking.
